  • What it’s about:  Leaving home and moving across the country to pursue a music career.
  • Why it didn’t make the album:  When I first recorded this song in 2015, I was SUPER disappointed because I accidentally recorded it WAY too slow.  In 2020, I had an idea and decided to try to “fix” the song by speeding it up using the time compression and expansion feature in my recording software.  It worked on most instruments, but I did have to re-record the acoustic guitar and piano.  I am so happy with the results that I am thinking about releasing this song as a single later in 2020, but you get to hear it first!  This song meant a lot to me because I felt like it captured the “adventure” and excitement that I was feeling when I moved from my hometown in Indiana to Austin, Texas.  At that time, the possibilities seemed endless.
